Why We Move
Finding Meaning in Every Mile
Mind, Miles & Medicine was born during a season when movement became more than exercise. It became a way to cope, to process, and to keep going. As my family began navigating breast cancer, caregiving, and uncertainty, running offered structure when life felt unsteady and purpose when answers were unclear.
What started as a personal commitment to keep moving forward has grown into a mission rooted in intention, resilience, and care. Through shared miles, reflection, and community, Mind, Miles & Medicine exists to support mental well-being and to remind others that they are not alone in what they carry.
At the heart of this mission is Mind, Miles & Moms, a fundraising initiative created in honor of my mom, my grandmother, and all mothers and caregivers whose strength often goes unseen. Each mile is a way of honoring their courage while turning movement into meaningful support, including contributions to organizations such as Susan G. Komen and the American Cancer Society.
This is not about pace, performance, or proving anything. It is about showing up with intention, moving through hard seasons with honesty, and building community where people feel supported exactly as they are.
Mind, Miles & Medicine exists for anyone who believes that even in life’s heaviest moments, forward motion, no matter how small, can still create hope.

Our Story
This didn’t begin as a plan, a brand, or a project.
It began as a way to cope.
During a season marked by breast cancer, caregiving, and uncertainty within my family, running became a constant. Some days it was grounding. Other days it was simply something to hold onto. There was no goal beyond continuing to move when life felt overwhelming and unpredictable.
As my mom navigated a cancer diagnosis and my grandmother took on the weight of caregiving, the miles became quieter and more reflective. Running created space to think, to process, and to release what couldn’t be controlled. It became a place where difficult emotions could exist without needing solutions.
Over time, it became clear that these miles were carrying more than personal meaning. They reflected experiences shared by many people, especially mothers and caregivers, whose struggles often go unseen. What started as something private began to feel worth sharing.
Mind, Miles & Medicine grew out of that realization. Not as a response to success or momentum, but as a way to honor real life while it was happening. There was no intention to inspire or instruct, only to move honestly and allow others to recognize themselves in the journey.
From this foundation, Mind, Miles & Moms emerged as a way to turn those miles outward. The initiative exists to honor mothers and caregivers and to translate personal effort into tangible support, including contributions to organizations advancing breast cancer research and care.
This story continues to unfold. There is no finish line, no polished outcome. Just a commitment to keep moving forward, to acknowledge what is heavy, and to allow movement to carry meaning along the way.
